Thank you Detroit Maker Faire!

It was an awesome weekend, with so many wonderful customers smiling and sharing their stories with me.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by my booth, to everyone who shared their memories, or told me where my bots are already occupying their homes and offices.  I cannot express how much joy it brings me to know that out there people look at something I created and smile every day.  Kudos once again to DIYpsi for organizing the craft tent, and the Henry Ford for putting on this amazing event for 5 years and counting.

I do not have any more shows scheduled at this time, but will keep you updated as the holiday season approaches and my show schedule is defined.  In the meantime, you can find my bots in Ann Arbor, MI at Found in Kerrytown Market and  826 Michigan, and in Rochester Hills, MI at Pine Creek Center for the Arts.  Commissioned work, special requests, or simply wishing to save yourself a trip, I’m always open to selling to you directly as well.  Find my work on etsy, or simply shoot me an email at  deets[at]bydeets.com  to let me know what you’re looking for.

If you liked what you saw under the DIYpsi tent this weekend, make sure to check out their upcoming show August 23-24 at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti.  While yours truly will not be vending that weekend, I may see some of you there in my volunteering capacity, and regardless, it is not to be missed!  Tons of amazing craft vendors, and food, and just awesomeness everywhere, all complimented with a Corner Brewery’s kick ass beer menu.

Cheers!

Thank you 2011!!

2011 was a great year for Deets, and I want to sincerely thank all of my customers, family, and friends for your support, and thank you to the Rust Belt Market, Handmade Detroit, DIYpsi , Flint Handmade826Michigan, and Found as well for the opportunity to sell my wares and build this dream of mine.  This past weekend marked the final indie art show for my season, and what a season it was!

If you are still in need of a last minute present by Deets, don’t fret.  Simply send me an email,  deets[at]bydeets.com  with your request and I’ll do my best to make and ship in time for the holidays.  Alternatively, you can still find some bots, magnets, and ornaments at Found in A2s Kerrytown.

As a lifelong Michigander, my optimism for our future is higher than ever (despite our current “leadership”).  So many awesome people, and so much talent keeping Detroit alive…

Clay Lab Detroit

The holiday season was very good to me.  So good, I forgot to stop and smell the roses! or blog.   I was extremely fortunate to participate in several shows in and around Detroit, including:

-Art in the Park in Ypsilanti, put together by the wonderful Kate Kehoe of Chicalookate

-Flint Handmade‘s Holiday Market

-the amazing Detroit Urban Craft Fair at the Fillmore in Detroit, put on by Handmade Detroit

-and DIYpsi, a new show held at Woodruff’s in Depot Town, put together by several fantastic artist/crafters, Sherri Green of Sparklepants Industries,  Marcy Davy of All Things Grow , and Cre Fuller of Tin Angry Men.

Every show I not only had the opportunity to sell, but also met new artists, new customers, and made some absolutely fantastic gift purchases and trades.

One of the artists that I had the fortune of trading with (and sharing the stage with at DUCF), was Clay Lab Detroit.  Not only are they a fantastic couple, helping make DUCF that much more fun, but their work is amazing.  The majority of the pieces are created by Carrie Armstrong Reid, with MattReid creating signature pieces of his own and helping with glazing and the other technical side of things.  I absolutely love the ball mugs, and now I only wish I had a whole cupboard full of horny mugs as well!
